*Misfits is FINALLY moving along. Now to get it polished and ready to pitch at Realm Makers. *maniacal laugh* (please send chocolate and coffee.)
*Slag is in the hands of beta readers! And I seriously have fantastic beta readers, you guys. Forged Steel isn’t super well known, but the people who like it are loyal and dedicated, and they are all amazing.
The novella formerly titled The Dragon and the Thief and now known as Dragon’s Catch is done. DONE. I wrote 19,500 words in just over a month. I don’t even know, you guys. *collapses*
*I am itching to get back into Burnt Silver, you guys. Getting Slag sorted out has given me new interest in the Crucible series, and I can’t wait to share Josh and Eliaster’s latest adventure!
MISC AND SUNDRY
*I’m starting a newsletter! So a lot of the writing stuff, like updates, etc, will move to that. I am going to keep posting on the blog–I want to continue the 5 Minutes With… interview series because I love doing it. I will for sure talk about some of the books & movies I’ve recently read.
But I want a spot to talk about other things too, like some of the realizations I’ve had as a geeky mom raising intentionally geeky kids, or just my various commentary on various things. I also want to be able to do more of the Beautiful People memes, and I don’t have the space for that now because I refuse to post more than once a week. (The very thought of writing all those blog posts exhausts me…plus the last time I did that, I burned out so, so quickly…)
So, the newsletter will be Writer Heather, and the blog will be more Geeky Heather. Yay for you guys! (if you like that idea…I dunno, the thought of Geeky Heather might scare off some folks…) 😉
Another Fun Thing (TM) that the newsletter will have is a free short story/serial part every month! I’m really looking forward to this, you guys. I’m playing with the idea of setting up a Patreon page to get some extra swag for those willing to support the free stuff…we shall see.
Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to lately. Look for the newsletter sign up announcement–it’s going to go live at the end of the month!
